- SAES Getters announces the closing of the acquisition of Spectra-Mat, Inc.
Spectra-Mat operates mainly in the field of vacuum components.
The purchase price was $5.9 million + adjusted net financial position ($1.5 million).

- Spectra-Mat, Inc. is pleased to announce the award of a SBIR Phase I contract on June 19, 2007, for the proposal entitled “Long-life High-Current-Density Cathode for Low-Convergence Electron Beam Guns” in response to Topic No. N07-055. John Paff, SMI’s Engineering Manager, is the principal investigator for the contract, which is anticipated to run through December 2007.
